Miss Uganda 2018 finalists

By Our Reporter

The Miss Uganda 2018 contestants have been unveiled. Organizers of the annual pageant revealed 23 finalists during the presentation night held by the Sheraton Kampala Hotel poolside on Thursday.

One by one the Miss Uganda hopefuls strutted the runway as they were announced by Prim Asiimwe, the emcee on the evening. They were received with cheers from the crowd as the audience hailed their favourite contestants.

Picked through auditions held across the country, the contestants will now head to a boot camp where they will take part in a series of buildup activities that will give audiences deeper insight into who the Miss Uganda hopefuls are.

Speaking during the ceremony, Brenda Nanyonjo, the CEO Miss Uganda, revealed that the pageant will be televised on local TV in a reality TV show style. “We are taking things a notch higher this year,” she said. “We are making the pageant a reality TV show and have partnered with filmmaker Nana Kagga who will lend her expertise in film and production to the show.”

Organised by Kezzi Entertainment, who are the franchise holders of the Miss World Pageant for Uganda since 2011, in partnership  with Talent Africa, the next Miss Uganda will be crowned on August 10th at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
