July 4th, 2015 is a day the Miss Tourism fraternity will always live to remember. On that day at around 3:30pm, two Miss Tourism beauty queens (Norah Atim and Barbara Nakiwolo) and NTV journalist, Resty Namawejje perished in an accident along Masaka road.

The Miss Tourism fraternity has decided to erect a monument at the spot where the accident happened in honour of the fallen colleagues.

According to Mr Eric Ntalo, the media coordinator of Miss Tourism, talks with the Ministry of Tourism and Uganda National Roads Authority are underway to have the monument erected. They are going to seek for permission to put up a monument with names of the people who perished in the accident. If approved, it will be put up next year on July 4th.

“We shall not let the girls lay in the banana plantations alone, we should be with them like we were in the beginning,” added Ronnie Nsubuga, the Miss tourism trainer.
