Miss Jamaica 2015/16, Dr. Myrie Sanneta met Miss Tourism Uganda beauty queens on Wednesday evening at a meet-and-greet event organised by the Ministry of Tourism at their offices.
It was a cheerful evening as the Minister of Tourism Hon. Maria Mutagamba, flanked by the reigning Miss Tourism Uganda Pauline Akurut, officially welcomed her and acknowledged how her visit would contribute to promoting Uganda internationally.
Dr. Myrie Sanneta, who is also the reigning Miss World 3rd runner up and Miss Carribean 2015/16, has been in the country since last week participating in different community projects in Ngora and Soroti districts, where she also used the opportunity to see some of Uganda’s tourist attractions.
“I do hope I get the chance to visit again. I did see the breathtaking Sipi falls and I know there is still so much Uganda has to offer and I would love to be part of it,” she said.
Dr. Myrie, who is the epitome of beauty with brains, concluded by tipping the Miss Tourism queens on how to stand out.
“In December, 130 countries gathered in China for the Miss World pageantry and this opened my eyes to the fact that, in this world, beauty is not enough to further your cause. Really, what makes a girl stand out is her inner beauty, her passion and what causes are important to her. To be a true beauty queen you have to work from inside out,” she said.
Dr. Myrie Sanetta is also expected to visit a Children’s Home with the reigning Miss Uganda Zahara Nakiyaga before heading back to Jamaica.
