The 15th edition of the Miss Earth world pageant has started with blessings as Uganda’s representative Sandra Akello has clinched a gold medal.
Akello scooped gold in Best National Costume on the African Continent at the ongoing Miss Earth World in Austria with other contestants from Ghana and DR Congo scooping silver and bronze medals respectively.
Uganda which is returning to the competition for the first time since 2008 has already registered success ahead of the finale set for 5th December, 2015 at Marx Halle in Vienna, Austria as 90 contestants from all over the world compete for the Miss Earth 2015 crown.
It should be noted Sandra Akello,who was 1st runner up in Miss earth Uganda replaced the original winner, Pearl Asasira, as Miss Earth Uganda 2015 for undisclosed reasons.
