micho sUganda Cranes Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has turned down interest from the Botswana FA to sign him as coach of the national team.

“Yes they have been interested in me and we have been in contact, but I cannot let down Uganda that I am not so attached to and have a running contract,” Micho told MTNFootball.com on Wednesday morning at the Garden Court Nelson Mandela Boulevard Hotel.

There have reports in Gaborone, the Botswana capital that Micho was about to jump ship and join them to take charge of their national side. “That is impossible because I cannot abandon Uganda now since I have to first achieve something with the Cranes,” added Micho.

The Serb who handled the Amavubi of Rwanda before joining Uganda last May said he has great respect for anyone who wants his services, but added that he is extremely committed to the Cranes job and wants to honour his contract in the best possible way. “It is not about the money I will be offered by other nations, but am comfortable here with the Cranes job because I know am dealing with a committed group,” he added.

Before moving to handle national teams, Micho has previously coached SC Villa (Uganda), St. George (Ethiopia), Orlando Pirates (South Africa), Young Africans (Tanzania) and El Hilal (Sudan).
