Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojević has penned a three year deal with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to extend his contract with the national team.
The development was revealed by the federation President, Eng. Moses Magogo yesterday during the weekly press conference at the FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala
“I hereby announce the extension of Coach Micho’s contract by three years. There are parameters we have used to award the coach an extension. He has registered 60 percent success in the matches he has handled. We need continuity to consolidate on the laid plans of achieving success in line with the upcoming competitions of AFCON, CHAN, and CECAFA,” reads Magogo’s statement on the federation’s website.
Despite his few shortcomings while at the team, the federation found it vital to renew his contract after guiding the Cranes to 18 victories, 5draws and 12losses. Micho also hailed the passion Ugandans have showed in supporting him as the Cranes head coach.
“I thank all the administrators, fans, media for the support accorded in my line of duty. I love this nation. I have a life contract in this country, with the people of this country, kept in the deepest part of my heart. Where we need correction, I call upon everyone’s advice. We also need to bring on board the talented Ugandans from whichever part of the globe,” Micho said.
The new contract that starts off on the 1st May 2015 will see the Serbian serve as the National team coach until May 2018.
