Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has officially kicked off preparations for the national teams, that is the Under-23, CHAN squad and Uganda Cranes.

The Serbian revealed his plans today during the weekly press conference at FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala.

The teams are set to feature in different competitions with the Kobs competing in the Africa U-23 Championship (2016 Olympic Qualifier tournament), the CHAN squad will be in for the 2016 CHAN and the Uganda Cranes will be up for the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers.

According to FUFA, Uganda will play either Rwanda or Somalia in May, 2015 in Kigali for the second round 1st leg of the Africa U-23 Championship with the return leg set for a week later in Kampala.

In the CHAN qualifiers, Uganda Cranes will clash with neighbours Tanzania on 20th June, 2015 with the first leg in Dar es Salaam while the return leg will be set for 4th July, 2015 at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

During the same period, the Uganda Cranes will also be preparing for their 2017 AFCON qualifier game against Botswana that will be played on the 13th June, 2015 at Mandela National stadium.

“Training camps will be organized for the players who will be on recess from the leagues so that we keep them fit for the game against Botswana,” Micho said.

“We have looked at players on the continent, region and around the globe to come and play for the National teams at various levels. When a concrete decision has been taken, we shall inform you,” the Serbian added.
