Uganda Cranes head tactician, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has expressed his gratitude to the government of Uganda for their financial support to the national team.

He made the remarks yesterday during a weekly press conference at the FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala as the Serbian outlined the roadmap for the Cranes in their upcoming fixtures.

Apart from the FIFA international friendlies, the Cranes will be involved in the “Cranes Namutima” campaign, the 2016 CHAN qualifiers and the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as they wait until March, 2016 for a double header clash with Burkina Faso in the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers.

“I first of all thank Government for the financial support, I thank FUFA, the players, fans and the media for the encouragement. The match against Comoros is now past, we are focusing on the future. We can only use it to reflect as lessons on how to improve on the overall team stand,” reads Micho’s statement on the federation’s website.

Micho also emphasized the need to sharpen and mentor the locally based players through the Cranes-Namutima campaign that is proudly sponsored by Nile Special.

“We plan to have friendly matches on the internationally recognized FIFA days. We look towards shaping the locally based players through the Cranes Na-Mutima campaigns,” he added.
