Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic named an 18-man squad that he travelled with to Morocco yesterday ahead of their last Group E match of the 2015 AFCON qualifiers on Wednesday 19th November. The 18-man squad left yesterday evening at around 6:30pm by Qatar Airlines; flight QR 1388 according to FUFA along with other 8 officials.
After that 1-0 historical win over Ghana on Saturday, thanks to Savio Kabugo’s only goal that saw Uganda carry the day, the Cranes’ chances of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) were rejuvenated.
Uganda are second on the Group E table with 7points and will be up against third placed Guinea who are also tied up at 7points though Uganda has a goal difference of one while Guinea has zero. Ghana are still on top with 8points despite their loss whereas Togo are bottom on 6points.
Uganda must win against Guinea to qualify straight away or else a draw will imply more prayers and getting down to the calculator.
