Mezo Noir, the upscale nightlife spot located in Kololo, is set to reopen its doors just over a week after it temporarily shut down following the tragic death of 23-year-old Martha Ahumuza Murari.

The closure was first announced on March 20, when management issued a public notice stating the venue would cease operations for a period of time.
This came in the wake of Martha’s untimely death, which occurred at the premises and sparked widespread concern and speculation.
However, on April 4, Mezo Noir released a new statement confirming plans to reopen, following a thorough investigation by authorities.
According to the statement, police found no evidence implicating the two male suspects initially questioned or any members of the Mezo Noir staff in any criminal activity related to the incident. The individuals in custody were officially cleared and released.
“As a team, we continue to mourn the loss of a young life and extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Martha Ahumuza Murari,” Mezo Noir said in the statement. “We remain committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all our patrons.”
With the police investigation concluded and no charges filed, the venue is expected to resume operations soon and a date will be communicated.
