Whereas everyone is busy blaming Duke Christopher Thomas for the marriage that went bad, it’s certainly impartial judgment on our part as Ugandans. Of course, it’s common knowledge that whenever a lady mentions Domestic Violence in the aftermath of the marriage collapsing, everyone will heap blame on the man. That is a known issue; every great lady of influence in this country has used it as an excuse of opting out of a relationship. Our dear former Vice President cited the same reasons, and it’s now our very own Princess.
Because when you talk about battering, everyone will support you, everyone will believe your side of the story and even question why you did not opt out as quickly as possible.
Before we chastise Thomas as the beast in this whole saga, we should not forget that many men cry in the dark. For such marriages that are the focus of the media, husbands tend to cry out more in the dark. It is very possible that Christopher Thomas lacked the authority a man wields in a marriage having married a Princess.
On top of that, no matter how hard-working he gets, everyone will still think it’s the Kingdom providing the money. But like Thomas has already confirmed, we all know clearly that the financial situation of the Tooro Kingdom is not a stable one at the moment. For those who remember, the wedding had to be postponed twice because they had failed to collect the money required to organize the wedding in the first place.
It is possible the Princess kept cheating on the Duke, it is very possible that the Princess refused to take any order from the Duke let alone submit to him as a very good wife. In the event of all this, for a man who finds out on his honeymoon that the wife has herpes, it’s another shocking matter that will terrify any man.
Before we fully get to the depth of all this, we should give Duke Thomas Christopher the benefit of the doubt and listen openly to his own side of the story. He may be one of those MEN WHO CRY IN THE DARK.
