A new breed of young rappers is fast mushrooming and ready to receive the mantle from the old rappers and carry on the legacy they started. Dubbed new school rappers, most have adopted catchy lyrics and wordplay art of rapping.
One such young and promising rapper is 17-year-old Ill Gee. Real names Aleni George Warren, Ill Gee has grown into an internet sensation among the young rap fraternity after debuting his mixtape titled “Self Over Drive” which was released on 18th May. The mixtape best portrays Ill Gee’s journey to self-discovery and experimentation.
The rapper further proved he is ready to take on his reign when he dropped a provocative single titled “King of New Skool” where he executes a handful of wordplay, and punch lines. The song is now enjoying ample airplay on several urban radio stations around the city.
Well, it can now be said, the young rapper is well on track to living his dream if only he can keep on rail.
