MC Ollo has parted ways with NTV Uganda just 7 months after being hired by the Kampala Serena-based TV station.
The move comes as a surprise to many, given that Ollo had quickly become a fan favorite, particularly among teenage students in secondary schools.
Ollo first gained recognition while working on NBS TV’s Youth Voice, where he built a strong following.
Earlier this year, he made news when he was poached by NTV from NBS, a move that was seen as a significant step in his career. At NTV, Ollo took on the role of presenting NTV TNation, where he has spent the last seven months.
Throughout his time at NTV, Ollo’s work was primarily focused on engaging with the youth.
In his resignation statement, Ollo reflected on his time at both NTV and NBS. He took a subtle swipe at his former employer, NBS, stating that the Youth Voice program he once hosted has never been the same since his departure.
However, he was quick to clarify that his resignation had nothing to do with any negative experiences at NTV. On the contrary, he described his time at the station as an “amazing journey.”
Ollo emphasized that his decision to leave NTV was driven by a desire to further uplift the voices of the youth—a mission that has been central to his career.
He assured his fans that this is not the end of his journey in the limelight and hinted at exciting new ventures on the horizon.
MC Ollo announced that the brand would no longer be associated with television. Instead, it will be managed independently by him, and anyone interested in collaborating with him should contact him directly.
