Renowned media personality MC Kats has shed light on his decision to offer Ugandan singer Grenade Official a sum of Ugx. 20,000 during a recent interview, clarifying the gesture he made towards the burgeoning artist.
During an interview on Galaxy TV last Sunday, Grenade Official disclosed that MC Kats had provided him with Ugx. 20,000 to facilitate his return journey to the village. The encounter occurred when Grenade visited Kampala to meet with MC Kats in hopes of garnering promotion for his music.
“I gave MC Kats my music and he gave me UGX 20K to go back to the village,” Grenade Official shared during his appearance on Galaxy TV’s ‘The Deep Talk’ show.
MC Kats’s action left Grenade Official puzzled, prompting speculation about its motive. However, MC Kats took to Twitter on Monday to elucidate the rationale behind his decision.
According to MC Kats, he offered the financial assistance to protect Grenade from the hardships of street life, a path he himself had traversed, marked by neglect and adversity. Despite the challenges, MC Kats expressed pride in Grenade’s personal growth and accomplishments.
“I left home at a very tender age, went through so many things on my own. Knew so much about the streets and regretted a lot. Just didn’t want you to face the same story. I am proud of what you became though, bro Grenade Official,” MC Kats conveyed.
Grenade Official stands out as one of Uganda’s most talented young stars.
His breakout hit, “Nkuloga,” catapulted him to fame in 2019, solidifying his presence in the country’s music scene.
