Mbarara Residents Bitter, We Want International Musicians!

People in Western Uganda especially Mbarara have expressed their concern over the international shows hosted in the country wondering why they never get an opportunity to host any.

Ever since Uganda started hosting big names like Sean Paul, Kingston, R. Kelly, P Square to mention but a few, all these have been taking place in Kampala and it’s high time it spread across the country, it seems fire has been burning inside the hearts of many people that cannot make it to the Central for such concerts despite Mbarara coming out as their mouth piece.

According to one TV presenter at TV West, Lizabella Namanya, people in those area would also love to glance at the so called international musicians and would be privileged if somebody like Sean Paul performed somewhere in Mbarara like at Agip Motel or Kakyeka stadium.

The viability of this assumption is however seemingly far from reality, because the ideal purpose of such concerts by organizers would not be realized. The main reason is to generate income for the organizers like Pepsi, Bell, MTN and Airtel despite embedding it with entertaining their fans and it is doubtful the main goal for the organizer can be achieved if such a mega concert is hosted upcountry.

In addition to that, several other things are considered when staging such a concert in a given area code, in Kampala for example following the recently concluded Konshens and Alaine concert, over 45,000 people turned up for the show, would it have such a turn up if it was in Gulu or anywhere outside Kampala, how about the security of people and the musician himself?

Several questions would remain unanswered and we here by throw it to you, if this was given attention, would it work out?
