International Reggae star Maxi Priest has arrived in Kampala ahead of the annual Nile Gold Jazz & Soul Safari concert this weekend.
Known for his hit singles like “Close To You”, “Wild World”, and “Just A Little Bit Longer” among others, Maxi Priest landed at Entebbe Airport a few minutes after 10pm aboard KLM. He flew in with his band members and was welcomed by Jazz Safari boss Tshaka Mayanja and members of the organising team.
Maxi Priest will headline the 9th edition of the Nile Gold Jazz & Soul Safari concert this Saturday, October 8 at its new home at Lugogo Cricket Oval alongside Saxophonist Jackiem Joyner a.k.a Lil man Soul who is an established contemporary jazz artist and Trumpeter Lin Rountree a.k.a The Soul-Trumpeter.
According to the organisers, domes will be erected on the turf at Lugogo Cricket Oval to replicate the indoor feel of Serena Hotel(where previous editions have been held) and maintain their usual class and hospitality for all the fans.
Also happening for the first time, local artistes will be given a chance to showcase their talent and share stage with the internationally recognized stars.
Tickets are on sale at 130K (Gold), 250K (Platinum) with VIP tables at 2.5Million.
