If there is a man who is skillful, smart and enthusiastic in his craft, it is Maurice Kirya. And his new Mwooyo album is just the right recipe. The 12-track album will keep in people’s minds for a long time. The music savvy folks will love it the more. But here, let’s talk about Never Been Loved video, shall we? Together with the album release, the video premiered on the same night. To summarize it in one word: epic!
The picture is stunning. The camera angles are flawless. The transition of characters seem not only perfect and seamless and effortless, it is good on the eye. Whoever was behind the setup of this video has a working brain and a taste for creatives. The white costumes the girls donned in the video gave it a unique feel. The layout and the storyboard cannot be gainsaid. Everything in the video was on point and Maurice’s dazzling good looks came to fore as clear as daylight. The ladies will love this. The men will love it, too, because therein, a bunch of ladies in floral whitish garments show acres of thighs. And the ladies are beautiful. Who wouldn’t want to watch it? But what stands out is the picture and the sheer genius skill of the director. At some point, he slows the movements down, slowly, paying attention to detail, capturing every moment with the lens of his camera. What do you call that? Good craftsmanship. This video, if handled well and professionally, if pushed very well, might not only win Maurice a Channel O award, or one of those prestigious awards, it might be headed for BET. Okay, that could be an exaggeration, but then again, it is a good piece of art.
