Maurice Kirya’s reputation sure goes ahead of him and his music has touched the hearts of many. The “Mwooyo” singer has certainly made a mark with his music already, and as if to conform this, an established Rwandan singer recently made a heartening confession about Kirya’s music. Cultural singer Mani Martin confessed that he is impressed by Kirya’s mastery of live performances.
“Maurice Kirya is my idol. I admire the way he sings and composes songs,” Mani Martin made the revelation on one of Rwanda’s popular radio station.
Mani Martin, who has recorded 4 albums to-date, was propelled to fame following the success of his single “Urukumbuzi” back in 2005, subsequently making him a force to reckon with in the Rwandan music industry. The singer was also given a nod in the now defunct PAM awards back in 2006 in the category of the Best Male Artiste – Rwanda.
