While Bebe Cool has tied most of his peers to exclusively performing at NRM events, Kadongo Kamu singer, Mathias Walukaga and a few other musicians remain free like birds in the forest to perform at any Presidential rallies that they wish. Walukaga who recently entertained crowds at Dr. Kiiza Besigye’s rally was today seen at Amama Mbabazi’s Go Forward rally in Mukono doing the same.
The singer who has decided to play all parties at the same time could end up making a lot of money more than any of his fellow musicians.
Speaking about their choice to work exclusively for Museveni, Radio and Weasel recently revealed that everyone has a right to support whoever they want, and Museveni was that choice for them. “Artistes also have a right to vote for which ever candidate they prefer. I don’t see why this is an issue because as Ugandans we vote too just like anyone else. People should just vote for whoever they wish,” Radio said.
“The way I see it, NRM commissioned artistes to do a song and they did it. They got paid and their families are very happy. As an artiste it is my job to sing so another party like FDC can pay another group to sing and there is no problem whatsoever in that,” Weasel said.
