Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has declared that the match against Tanzania is their top priority as the team concludes preparations for tomorrow’s game against the Taifa Stars in the return leg of the 2016 CHAN qualifiers.

“We have Saturday’s competitive match against Tanzania which is our top priority but mind you we also have to plan for a friendly match against Malawi in preparation for the U-23 African Championship tie against Egypt as well,” Micho told the federation’s website.

In the same vein, the Serbian was excited about the team’s preparation progress after a few buildup matches on Wednesday that saw the CHAN team crush the Uganda Kobs (U-23) 4-1 thanks to the brilliant efforts of Vipers’ player maker, Farouk Miya, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Muhammed Fahad and Frank Kalanda before Villa’s new recruit, Kasumba Umar netted the only consolation for the juniors.

“We set three teams and that’s CHAN A and B then plus Uganda Kobs. But again in the CHAN squad we have players who are below 23 years of age. Our intention of doing this is to monitor the fitness level of the other players who are not with us in camp yet they’re also in our plans,” Micho added.

Uganda leads Tanzania on 3-0 goal aggregate and the winner will advance to the next stage to take on Sudan.

Uganda Kobs will travel to Malawi for a friendly match on 6th July before going to Egypt on the weekend of 17-19 July 2015 for the CAF Orange U-23 African Nations championship qualifier.
