Massa-Anyau

By James Robert Kayindi

Uganda Cranes lead striker, Geoffrey Massa is expected to return to Micho’s starting line-up after missing Uganda’s Group E opener against Ghana on Saturday at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi. The Pretoria university based striker missed the trip to Ghana due to some club commitments but later joined the local camp last week on Wednesday and continued with preparations at the KCC stadium in Lugogo under coach Video Anyau’s charges.

Massa is expected to relegate Brian Umony to the bench who started as the lead striker against Ghana in the 1-1 draw with the Cranes over the weekend. Apart from Massa, the Cranes squad will also have other fresh legs like KCCA left winger Brian Majwega who just recovered from an injury and Alex Kakuba, a Portugal based player.

All players attended the last training session on Tuesday late evening in the final preparations of the team ahead of their clash with Guinea in the AFCON qualifiers of Group E. The last training was also witnessed by new Cranes ambassador Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool and other stake holders.
