Masaka SS are the champions of the 2015 East Africa Secondary Schools Football Boys’ competition having condemned Tanzanian side Alliance to a 4-3 defeat in a penalty shootout in the finals played at the Huye Campus Grounds on Sunday.
The penalty shootout followed a 2-2 draw between the two sides in normal time. Goals from Fred Kasongo and Athanas Mdamula for Alliance school with Julius Kazibwe on the other hand for the Ugandan side were not enough to win the game for either side in normal time.
Masaka now takes over from the 2014 champions of St. Mary’s Kitende who thrashed them 3-0 to win this year’s Copa Coca Cola title earlier on at the finals in Masindi.
Kitende lost 1-0 to Alliance in the semi-finals of the tournament before being banned for a year and fined $1,000 for their violence on a match official in the aftermath of their semi-final game.
