Contrary to reports that have been making rounds in some sections of the media, TV star Mary Luswata, of Urban TV, still has a show to run on. The controversy started when falsehoods started spreading like wild fire online that Mary Luswata’s show had been banned by UCC.
Reports further indicated that the Scoop on Scoop presenter had lost her Urban TV show because of the foul language that she was using on TV. A behind the scenes video clip of her mentioning some obscenities was released online sparking the falsehoods.
According to our sources, the TV presenter got in a fight with a well-known Ugandan V-logger based in Sweden, Peng, calling him gay. He reacted by releasing a video of her speaking dirty adult words in Luganda. It is then that UCC reportedly got involved and banned her show from airing again.
However at 9pm today, the flamboyant TV star was at it again on her Scoop on Scoop show tearing celebrities apart.
Mary who has been on TV with the controversial show for about one year now has become a house hold name. Her show concentrates on celebrity gossip as well as uncovering the dirt in the Ugandan entertainment arena. She has made more foes than friends, but still smiles on and does her thing with the backing of Urban TV and Vision group.
In the past she has stepped on several celebrities toes. These include; Judith Heard, Cindy and Zari whom she claims have a disease called Open Leg Syndrome. In her words, “The three will open their legs for any man who wants to sleep with them”.
She also had an incident with NBS TV’s Loswash whom she called a man slayer. “Loswash moves around with a mattress on her back. The moment any man shows interest, she simply lies on the mattress and gives him sex,” she is quoted to have said last year.
It is also clear however, that the TV star is loved by many. She was ranked number 18 among the top 100 Ugandan celebrities of 2014. She boosts of a large Facebook and Twitter following too. Catch her shows at 9PM on Urban TV every weekday.
