Singer Martha Mukisa has announced that her maternity leave is officially over and she’s ready to bounce back with fresh music for her fans.
Mukisa, who welcomed a baby girl named Kiana in May at Kibuli Hospital, has been on a break from active performances. However, she reveals that her time off wasn’t exactly “leave” in the traditional sense.
“I wouldn’t say I have really been on maternity leave because my healing process is when I’m juggling between life and work, that’s how best I heal or function. Even when I was pregnant, I would upload a video,” Mukisa shared.
She added that she even shot a music video with a Kenyan collaborator while pregnant and has unreleased songs lined up. “I last went on stage when I was six months pregnant, and that was in Busia,” she revealed.
The Sango hitmaker also admitted that the pregnancy came as a surprise, but she fully embraced the journey when it happened.
With her baby now a few months old, Mukisa is ready to refocus on her career, promising fans a wave of new music projects soon.
