It’s been a tough time for Maroons since their return into Uganda’s topflight from the FUFA Big League and the case wasn’t any different yesterday as they lost away to Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) Hippos by 1-0.

Abdulrahman Ajaab scored for the league debutants to earn them maximum points that left them in 7th place on the log with 11 points from seven matches.

The loss was however Maroons’ fifth of the season after playing seven games in which they have won just one and drawn one, leaving them in the relegation zone with just four points.

Elsewhere, army side Simba Sports Club shared spoils with Uganda Revenue Authority FC in a one-all draw at Bombo Military Stadium.

Simba are yet to win a game after seven matches played but have managed three draws that leave them just a place from the bottom while the Tax Collectors are 9th with nine points on the log.
