Musician Maro has joined a campaign aimed at ending the jigger endemic in Busoga region. Dubbed “Zero Jiggers”, the self-proclaimed RnB Kyabazinga will  through music raise awareness and sensitize the masses about maintaining proper hygiene which is one of the ways to fight the scourge which has dogged the region for a long time.

The singer has expressed optimism about the project saying that, “I am glad to be the voice that will kill the stigma attached to the infection and the diseases that come along with it by letting everyone know they can be infected if at all they don’t keep clean.”

He has already released a new song titled, “Tundula”, which will be the anthem for the “Zero Jiggers” campaign.

The campaign is an initiative by Sole Hope, a Jinja-based NGO whose mission is to offer hope, healthier lives, and freedom from foot related diseases through education, jobs, and medical relief.
