Ugandan singer Maro has raised concerns and cried foul over the alleged fraudulent activities of a Rwandan dance group known as “Ava Dance Team.”

The artist took to his social media platforms to shed light on the scam perpetrated by the group, accusing them of deceitfully promising to create a dance video for him.

In a statement shared on his social media accounts, Maro revealed that he and fellow artist JWats have fallen victim to the deceptive practices of “Ava Dance Team.”

The singer expressed his disappointment and issued a warning to fellow artists about the alleged scam.

“ATTENTION ARTISTES: Scammer Alert ⚠️ There is a Dance group based in Rwanda that scams Artistes in need of dance videos! They seem and look legit until you pay them! They are called ‘Ava Dance Team’ on IG and Tiktok! Victims are Me and JWats as far as I know!” reads Maro’s statement on X.

The warning serves as a cautionary message to other artists who may be considering engaging with “Ava Dance Team.” Maro’s disclosure highlights the importance of vigilance when collaborating with individuals or groups online, emphasizing the need for thorough research and verification before entering into any agreements.

The revelation by Maro underscores the prevalence of online scams and the necessity for artists to exercise due diligence in their professional dealings.

As the story gains traction on social media, it remains to be seen how “Ava Dance Team” will respond to the accusations and whether legal action will be taken by the affected artists.

In the meantime, the Ugandan music community and the wider public are urged to remain cautious and stay informed about potential scams in the entertainment industry, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a secure and trustworthy online environment for artists and creators.
