There have been several stories about musician Keko taking drugs to the extent of passing out or even going mad. The singer recently cleared the air about the issue and confessed to smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol.
Keko revealed that she was a good girl at the start and concentrated only on her music. However bad influence from friends and peers turned her into a drug wreck. “I was just hanging around different people because when I started my singing career, I used not to drink or smoke. It was group influence but again, I cannot blame them because we all make our decisions at the end of the day,” she said.
She then went on to say that the craziest thing about Marijuana was that it made her very lazy and that is when she realized she was in trouble. “It made me lazy and not want to go to record music. I just wanted to stay home. For about a year-and-a-half. They made me lazy and I don’t like being lazy. I like doing stuff- wake up in the morning and go do this and that.”
The rapper then shared some advice for the young people struggling with drug abuse. “As a young person, you try everything and know what works for you and what doesn’t. There are so many kids out there doing drugs and they don’t know how to stop. They think it is a fun thing but at the end of the day, drugs do more harm than good to them.”
Keko says that she is lucky that she got rehabilitation before the drugs could ruin her completely. The rapper’s family took her into rehab because they knew the person she was and the person she had become. She was checked into a rehab facility on Entebbe Road called Serenity Centre. She was there for about three months and her life changed.
