Musicians Mariam Ndagire and Annet Nandujja were awarded medals of honour on Tuesday afternoon at Kololo Independence grounds. The two outstanding ladies were among the 400 medal recipients as the world celebrated Women’s Day.
The president urged the women to actively take part in development issues. Marian Ndagire was all praises for the president’s consideration.Clad in a gomesi, she smiled ear to ear.
The ceremony was an all-female affair. From the emcees, and parade, the women took over the ceremony.
Sevo remains a darling for uplifting the welfare of women unlike in previous regimes.
