The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has excommunicated Mariam Kaliga Nakulima from the FUFA Executive Committee according to the latest developments reaching our desk.
In a letter signed by the local football governing body’s CEO, Edgar Watson to FIFA, CAF and other concerned parties after a committee meeting that was attended by the federation president Eng. Moses Magogo and other officials, it was agreed that Mariam Kaliga be dismissed from the committee for reasons that are yet to be revealed to us.
“You are hereby informed that the FUFA Emergency Committee that sat today, 18th September 2015 at FUFA House and pursuant to Article 37 of the FUFA Statutes has dismissed you,” reads part of the letter as quoted on the FUFA Website.
Rumors suggest that she has been relieved of her duties at FUFA following revelations to a local newspaper that the Federation President Eng. Moses Magogo has been reported to the IGG’s office and will soon be under review in regards to matters of accountability and transparency.
Other officials who attended the meeting included; Vice Presidents Justus Mugisha, Darius Mugoye and Denis Mbidde. Executive members Sam Lwere, Hamid Juma, Chris Kalibala and Dr. Patrick Bernard Ogwel. However, Mrs. Kaliga did not attend the meeting despite receiving an invitation.
We will keep you posted.
