Mariah Carey has revealed plans to release her next album in the coming weeks.
The singer will reveal the title, tracklist, artwork and music all at once through a standalone digital release, which is expected to happen very soon.
Carey will team up with a digital outlet to distribute the album, but insisted that she needs to be the person who makes the announcement.
“I have to be the one that announces this, especially the title,” Carey told Billboard, adding that the record is named after a “personal possession of mine that’s part of an entity that I’ve had almost all my life.”
It has not yet been confirmed whether previous singles ‘Triumphant’, ‘#Beautiful’, ‘The Art Of Letting Go’ or ‘You’re Mine (Eternal)’ will feature on the record.
Carey also revealed that a physical version of the album will follow a week after the digital release.
The strategy has already been likened to Beyoncé’s shock new album release back in December, which saw her sell millions of records worldwide in a matter of days.
