Following a serious shoulder injury in July — oh, the slings! — Mariah Carey is back and getting ready for the release of her new single, the title track of her upcoming album The Art of Letting Go.
In an interview with CNN, Carey, who has spent more than half of her life in the music industry, talks about going back to her musical roots for the album, the advice she has for young girls, and the connections fans make with her music.
“I never like to be totally specific. I like people to make it about their own life experiences.” the former American Idol judge said of her songs.
The single will be released in an exclusive listening party on Carey’s Facebook page on November 11 at 11 am.
