Who knew that Mimi was such a meanie? Mariah Carey, 46, laughed away the idea of Jennifer Lopez‘s fame, telling TMZ cameramen at The Beverly Hilton hotel on March 7 that she had no idea who the singer was!
As Mariah was leaving the posh Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles (seriously, who doesn’t stay there?) she answered a few questions posed by TMZ reporters. She sweetly signed an autograph for the reporter while he told her that she looked amazing. It’s true! “Mariah, what do you think about people still referencing ‘I don’t know her’ all these years later?” he asks her. “I still don’t know her,” she responds!
Well damn! Their both referring to an infamous interview in the early 2000s, in which Mariah simply stated “I don’t know her” when asked a question about JLo. The quote led to 16 years of memes, a rumors of an alleged feud between her and Jennifer!
She explained in a November 2015 interview with The Cutthat she wasn’t actually trying to shade JLo when she said that. Mariah said that she was just being honest; she literally had never met JLo!
It seems now that Mariah was just making a joke when she said that she still didn’t know JLo. Obviously she knows who she is; there’d be something wrong if she didn’t! They’re both dominating every night at their residencies in Las Vegas!
