Uganda’s representatives at this year’s Mapinduzi Peace Cup, KCCA FC were knocked out of the tournament yesterday by home side Police F.C in a penalty shoot out.
The defending champions lost 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a barren 90 minutes that saw both sides miss a couple of chances. Being the defending champions, KCC came into the game as favorites which they tried to demonstrate but failed to crack down a bouncy Police.
The Kasasiro boys missed a couple of chances with Herman Wasswa, William Wadri and Derrick Nsibambi being culprits. Dangerous substitute Owen Kasule who came on for Paul Mucureezi came close to putting the reigning champions into the lead when he netted home in the 75th minute but his goal was canceled on offside grounds.
After progressing to the semifinals, Police will now face off with Tanzanian based side Simba on Saturday at Aman stadium.
