Connor Wickham scored a double as Manchester City saw their Premier League title chances dashed after are held to a 2-2 draw by bottom side Sunderland at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
Fernandinho put the home side ahead less than two minutes into the match, but they went behind as Connor Wickham scored twice in 10 minutes, with both goals coming following Emanuele Giaccherini passes.
But with two minutes left, the home side managed to rescue a point when the Black Cats goalkeeper Vito Mannone fumbled Samir Nasri’s fierce strike into his own net.
The draw leaves City third in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Liverpool,while Sunderland are now six points from safety with five games remaining, although they have a game in hand over their relegation rivals.
