In March this year while unveiling his Mwooyo Album at the Sound Cup, Maurice Kirya couldn’t hide his emotions as he dedicated one of the songs as a special that he had composed for his mother.
The song was titled; “Mama We Made It.” Speaking about why he’d done that song for his mother, he explained; “It is to the person who is the reason as to why I am; my mother and all the struggles we have been together and how she just kept cheering me on even when things went south.”
At that time, Mama Kirya was in and out of a long struggle with cancer. Mama Kirya is the mother to Sabba Sabba, Vampino and Maurice Kirya. Theirs is a musical family.
