In a remarkable feat of culinary endurance, Mama D real name Dorcus Bashema Kirabo has shattered the recently established Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours. This title was previously held by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who spent an impressive 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds in Japan. His achievement had surpassed the record set by Nigeria’s Hilda Baci, who cooked for 93 hours, 40 minutes, and 11 seconds in Lagos. However, Mama D has now taken the cooking marathon to new heights, embarking on a relentless journey that began on December 23, 2023.
Unlike the previous record holders, Mama D’s culinary extends beyond the 119-hour mark, pushing the boundaries of endurance and skill. Her dedication to the craft has captured the attention of onlookers and fellow enthusiasts in Uganda and world over. The kitchen has become her stage, and her creations linger in the air as she continues to cook with unyielding determination.
Mama D now joins likes of Raymond Kahuma (World’s Largest Rolex), Phaneero (World’s longest applause), Jacob Kiplimo (World’s equaling run), and King Rukirabasaija Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV (World’s youngest reigning monarch) as the other Ugandans holding World Records.
Mama D will have to wait for at-least 12 weeks pending Guinness World Records review team before she can be declared a World Record Holder.
