Makerere University has been ranked 7th in Africa in the recently released Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) 2014 Edition.

The ranking released on Tuesday 15th July 2014 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia also ranked Makerere 891st in performance in the world.

CWUR’s research measures the quality of education and training of students as well as the prestige of the faculty members and the quality of their research without relying on surveys and university data submissions.

The Institution Vice Chancellor, Prof. John Ddumba-Ssentamu noted that the rankings are indeed a true reflection of Makerere University’s reputation as a leading trainer of Human Resource in  East and Central Africa.
