Nseko Buseko show season 2

By Our Reporter

Comedy duo, Madrat & Chiko gave fans a memorable evening at the second edition of the “Nseko Buseko” show that was held at Imperial Royale Hotel on Friday.

The evening opened with a performance from Janzi band who did renditions of popular songs from the past as well as the present as revelers settled in their seats. This was followed up by a dance showcase from Platinum dancers who would later welcome the much awaited stars onto the stage.

Madrat & Chiko stepped on stage at around 9.30 pm dressed in boxing garb, amid excitement from the crowd, as they went on to enact a boxing match. Played out in slow motion in a makeshift ring, it was punctuated with commentary from VJ Junior and comedian Tamale Mirundi who made fun of the ‘fighters’, to the amusement of the revelers. The boxing match was set to reflect Uganda’s political environment with Madrat (representing NRM) knocking out Chiko (representing opposition) even when he seemed to have the muscular disadvantage given his diminutive figure. The skit lasted about 30 minutes before they went back and changed into normal apparel.

In the succeeding session, the comedy duo cracked up the crowd which now filled up the Primrose hall with experiences about day-to-day life of the rich juxtaposed against those of the poor. They made fun of how the rich dress differently from the poor, and how they each conduct themselves at funeral rites among others. They also joked about current affairs like the recently introduced Social media tax and recent spate of murders. They did not even spare themselves as they shared their embarrassing first time trip to USA.

Their performance which went on till midnight attracted intermittent applause from the audience as they laughed out heartily. The show was interluded by a performance from comedian Alex Muhangi, who was the host of the evening.

Sponsored by Tusker Malt, Miranda and Galaxy FM among others, the show was graced by several high profile dignitaries including musicians, city businessmen and political figures most notably State Minister Hon. Ronald Kibuule.
