Comedy duo Madrat and Chiko have suggested that pastors should have other sources of income beyond church offerings.

According to the comedians, many religious leaders have turned churches into their only source of livelihood, which they argue burdens congregants financially.
“When someone starts a church, it’s like a business and they never want to do anything else. It’d be good if they had jobs outside ministering,” Chiko said.
Madrat echoed his partner’s sentiments, noting that instead of empowering believers to go out and work, some pastors keep their followers constantly engaged in church activities throughout the week.
He argued that this prevents them from pursuing productive work that could sustain their families.
