Lweza open relegation fight with a draw at Victoria University

League debutants Lweza fc opened their relegation fight by picking a draw against Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole yesterday in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).

Francis Ssembatya scored for the ‘Kajjansi Boys’ during the first half while Muwada Mwanjje replied for the hosts as they shared the spoils.

The result kept Lweza in their 13th spot on the 16-team log with 23 points from 24 games while Victoria University also did not move an inch on the table as they remained 9th with 29 points from 25 games.

Lweza now are two points clear of relegation but have played two more games than Kiira Young who lie just below them with 21 points from 22 matches.

Elsewhere, bottom side Entebbe fc were condemned to a 1-0 defeat by Simba at the Bombo Military stadium.
