The uncertainty of Lweza Football Club’s position in the 2015/2016 season of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) seems to have been sorted out after the FUFA Licensing Committee accorded them with a provisional contract.
Lweza had earlier on been relegated to the FUFA Big League for failing to fulfill the requirements for club registration and licensing, consequently being left out of the provisional first round fixtures.
The matter was however resolved by the FUFA Appeals’ Committee allowing them to take part in the new AUPL campaign. Following a successful verification of their documents by the FUFA Licensing Committee led by Dr. Patrick Bernard Ogwel, they were given a provisional licence according to reports reaching our desk from the federation.
“The FUFA Licensing Committee (FLC) has reviewed your latest submission for your club registration and Licensing after successful appeal with the FUFA Appeals Committee. The 6th FUFA Licensing Committee meeting has granted you provisional License to participate in the Azam Uganda Premier League with immediate effect,” read part of the letter signed by Decolas Kiiza on behalf of the FUFA CEO Edgar Watson as indicated on the federation’s website.
Having been included in the new fixture, the Kajjansi Boys will kick start their season against Soana FC on 29th August, 2015 at Kavumba Recreational ground.
Meanwhile the postponed fixtures involving Sc Villa, Maroons fc, BUL fc, Lweza fc and SC Victoria University have been rescheduled as below.
18th Sept, 2015 BUL vs Lweza FC
25th Sept, 2015 Lweza vs SCVU
