This could yet be another blockbuster movie to be produced in our country. Kenyan Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong’o is set to take a leading role in the movie – ‘Queen of Katwe‘. It has been confirmed that she is yet to step in the country and will spend some good time here as she shoots the highly anticipated movie.
Queen of Katwe has been in the pipeline since last year and finally plans to have it executed are underway. The film will be directed and produced under the supervisory expertise of local director Mira Nair Mira Nair.
Queen of Katwe is about Mutesi’s story based on the inspiration of a book by Tim Crothers, titled, The Queen of Katwe: A Story of Life, Chess, and One Extraordinary Girl’s Dream of Becoming a Grandmaster – Mutesi. Mutesi has also been the subject of short documentaries and news reports, capturing her inspiring story.
