Soana Football Club became the first Super League club to be ejected from the Uganda Cup knockout competition yesterday.
Paddy Kwizera scored the lone goal to give the Buganda Region League side, Seeta United, a shock 1-0 win in the round of 64.
Two games were not played, as Ngora Freda Carr and CRO FC, failed to show up. Ngora were due to play Kampala University in Luweero, while CRO never made the trip to Kazo in Kawempe to face Stegotta.
In Butambala, Medi Kakeeto scored his first goal for the club as another Super League club, Bright Stars FC, edged stubborn Bulo Red Stars FC. Bright Stars won 1-0 to set up a clash with Lweza FC in the next round.
Army side Simba FC needed penalties to see off Life Eternal. The army side won 3-2 after normal time ended 0-0. Masaka LC defeated Synergy 1-0, thanks to Ronald Lukungu’s goal.
Yusuf Kinene and Abraham Ndugwa scored for Entebbe FC as they beat school side St. Marys in Nabweru. Jinja-based BUL FC were 1-0 winners over Coup De Grande at Gogonya grounds in Nsambya. Masene Joshua scored the game’s solitary strike.
