The Love Scotch Festival has been launched in Uganda.
The month-long fete was officially launched on Friday, 10th February at the inaugural International Love Scotch Day celebration, to coincide with the birthday of Alexander Walker, pioneer of the world’s best-selling Scotch whisky, Johnnie Walker.

Speaking at the event, Juliana Kagwa, Marketing Director at Uganda Breweries Ltd, said the day marks the start of a journey of provenance and indulgence in the world’s finest Scotch whiskies.
“Today, we mark the inaugural World Love Scotch Day,” she said. “Starting on Monday, 50 of Uganda’s top bars will be hosting the Love Scotch Festival. Our consumers will get to enjoy some of our finest liquids on their lips through out this festival.”
“We have discounted our Single malt Scotch, and our consumers will experience any of our single malts by the bottle at great prices. They will also get to enjoy discounted cocktails of choice using one of our Scotch whiskies as a base.” She added.

The Love Scotch Festival, which will run until 10th March, will also involve a draw being conducted at the leading hyper chain stores where consumers stand a chance to win different prizes such as a 3-month supply of free Johnnie Walker Black Label, or a private whisky tasting session at the House of Walker at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

The launch ceremony was held at Liquid Silk where revelers were treated to a whisky tasting session and live music performance from maestro guitarist Myko Ouma and the band.
