Located on the ground floor of Village Mall, Bugolobi, the world’s most popular chicken restaurant opened its Ugandan wing this afternoon to an overwhelming reception.

At 2pm, the doors were opened to the press who were treated to an honourable tour, and pioneer customer service of its world renowned chicken as masses continued to gather outside the mall waiting for 3pm, the official opening of the doors to the public.

“The #SamsungTwitterParty is back! Get ready to party the night away come 19th December at Zone 7 with fellow tweeps. Entrance is 15,000shs. Call 0775439894 for details. Great music and drinks.”

It is said rapper Eddie Atlas was at the mall by noon only to be told to return in the afternoon.

Ironically, singer Maurice Kirya, a vegetarian and owner of The Sound Cup cafe, is the ambassador of the restaurant and cut the tape at 3pm as a long queue trailed behind him.

”This is the first of many KFC’s in Uganda”, said Simon Schaffer the MD of Kuku Foods. ”We intend to open four new restaurants in 2014 including one in Entebbe which will bring the the total investment in Uganda to five restaurants by the end of 2014”.

There is cause for celebration as the chicken is Ugandan and over 40% of the staff. For those who want to detooth or propose, you know where to go!
