Eddy Kenzo got a shock of his life last weekend. While he expected to receive a warm welcome in Lira, that was not the case on Saturday. Eddy Kenzo who for the first time in almost a year and half had a show in Lira, of course, got applause upon stepping on stage.
All was well until the singer sang over ten songs while the indigenous singers were backstage waiting for their turn. The seemingly tired crowd asked Eddy Kenzo off stage. The singer who imagined his music was most liked in the area did not have an idea that the crowd had their other favourite artistes from Lira they had come to see. The crowd and artistes bac stage asked the singer to stop performing and give other artistes chance too.
“Those are enough, give chance to others as well,” the crowd geared.
Artistes back stage were heard saying Kenzo was overrated. “This guy is not as good as they say he is. This should be his last time here,” they told each other in agreement.
The singer did not have a choice but to step down and wait for his next show which was in Gulu and as expected went well.
