Former Blu*3 singer Lilian Mbabazi has addressed long-standing rumours that the popular girl group used to fight over men.

In a recent interview on the ‘The Deep Talk With Mr. Henrie’ TV show, Mbabazi stated clearly, “We all have different tastes in men,” putting to rest claims that relationships caused tension within the group.
Blu3 was a Ugandan girl group formed in April 2004 after winning the Coca-Cola Popstars TV show. The group was founded by respected music and events producer Steve Jean.

The name Blu3 stands for “3 Beautiful (or Black) Ladies from Uganda.”
The original trio included Jackie Chandiru, Lilian Mbabazi, and Cinderella Sanyu (also known as Cindy).
The group rose to fame in the mid-2000s, releasing several hit songs and representing Uganda on regional and international stages.

Rumors of repeated disagreements among the members over men have often made headlines over the years.
However, Mbabazi’s recent statement suggests that such talk was mostly speculation.
“We each had our own preferences. So, the idea that we were fighting over the same man doesn’t make sense,” she added.
Blu*3 eventually saw changes in its lineup when Cindy left the group, but their legacy remains significant in Uganda’s music history.
Fans have always admired their talent and impact, and Mbabazi’s comments may help shift focus back to their music and achievements.
