In an emotional live television interview, Levixone, one of Uganda’s top gospel singers, broke down in tears as he recounted his life before and after losing his best friend, Mac Elvis.

Speaking to Suzan Makula Bujjingo on her “Makula Show”, Levixone revisited the struggles they endured together in the Kosovo ghetto of Kampala, where food, shelter, and clothing were luxuries they could barely afford.

Levixone, whose music career has since skyrocketed, shared his deepest pain: not being able to share the fruits of their hard work and dreams with Mac Elvis.

“We hustled together and dreamt big. Now that God has blessed me, it hurts that I cannot celebrate this success with him,” Levixone said, fighting back tears.

Mac Elvis, born Mutalya Mark Elvis on December 1, 1987, was a celebrated Ugandan gospel musician and producer.

He played a pivotal role in Levixone’s early music career, co-founding the gospel group The Church Boys Business.

Tragically, Mac Elvis passed away on October 18, 2013, after drowning in a swimming pool during a trip to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Mac Elvis is remembered for his impactful music, with hits like Topowa Game, Church Boy, and Mufiirako, among others.

His contributions to the gospel music industry and his mentorship of artists like Levixone have left an indelible mark.
