Omuzungu akoba nti – When life gives you a lemon, make Lemonade’ … As Basoga, it is time for us to embrace this attitude! For example…
– Chapatti making….
They say that Basoga are chapatti makers!! And some of you feel bad and even quarrel… he he he… mbasekeleire! Why don’t you look at that as an industry giving jobless Basoga work to do. It is a job that is making that Musoga brother not to sleep hungry at night. It is because of that chapatti business that, that musoga is able to provide for his family, send his children to school, and also support his village parents. It is because of that Chapati job, that that musoga is not a thief, or a beggar on the streets.
Now let’s look at the bigger picture…. Basoga can actually make a big Chapatti centre in the middle of the city, and supply the best chapatti’s with the tag of Basoga on it. Then we can create other centers all over Uganda, spread to East Africa and Africa at large. A clean place anyone walks in and gets their best Chapatti or rolex?! Have u considered how many people actually enjoy chapatti/rolex? Do you go a week without consuming these delicious chapattis? For some people its even their daily breakfast. think about it! Just like McDonalds is known, we the Basoga are already known for our best Chapatti’s, we dont even need to advertise for it. This industry is capable of employing lots of Basoga, yes, even the so called graduates. As the centre will not only need Chapatti makers, but also cashiers, managers, administrators et al.
Its time to make our Lemonade!! Mulekele agho okwekubagiza kubuli kibogerwaku. Bad publicity can also make good business. Its time to change our mindsets and maximize our situations to our advantages.
Life is what you make it – Embrace it, stop listening to negativities, concentrate on making your life better. Your Destiny is in your hands. Do not wait for someone else to pull you up. Most of the people are only good at putting others down, but its your job to get up, and excel. The world has no place for mediocrity or losers. If you concentrate on being a looser, no one will recognize or embrace you. Do something extra-ordinary. Reach for the stars always. Do not subscribe to the standards of the world. Purpose to defy them at all cost.
You can make it. You have all it takes. You can soar like the Eagle, if you only try. Lekela okwesasira. And stop waiting for people to give you what you want, sometimes you have to Okuwaguza at all costs.
